Tennessee announces Justin Worley as starting quarterback
Tennessee’s preseason quarterback battle has come to a close, and Butch Jones named senior Justin Worley the starter.
JONES: @WorleyBird_14 has earned the right to the be starting QB. I believe Justin is playing the best football he’s played in a long time.

Worley won the job over returners Josh Dobbs and Nathan Peterman, and Worley has thrown for 1,977 yards and 11 touchdowns, compared to 13 INTs in three seasons. He has the most experience of any of the quarterbacks, and we projected Worley to win the job.
Tennessee opens up the season on Sunday, August 31st, against Utah State.
