Tennessee fans blast Kentucky radio host after Finebaum appearance
This certainly did not sit well with Tennessee fans.
Matt Jones, a host and owner of Kentucky Sports Radio, made an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show to discuss Wildcats football and the upcoming bowl game against Northwestern. The two teams will square off in the Music City Bowl later this month, but it was a comparison between the Wildcats and Volunteers that made waves across Twitter.
While discussing the recent hire of Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee, Jones claimed that the Vols have found themselves on Kentucky’s level when it comes to making a head coaching hire.
Here’s the tweet from Finebaum with Jones’ full comment:
"Tennessee now finds itself hiring the kind of coaches Kentucky hires. Hire a coordinator & hope" – @KySportsRadio pic.twitter.com/Dh1YDVKU4C

Needless to say, that comment did not sit well with Vols fans on Twitter. Many took time to weigh in on the discussion and get a shot in at the Wildcats:
The difference between the two is if the Kentucky coach finds success he will move on to a bigger & better job. If the Tennessee coach succeeds he will stay.

This is what happens when you have Kentucky fans on to talk football… Waste of time.

Funny thing is Pruitt would have never taken the Kentucky job, lol.

Just a guy who is more of a fan than reporter. Just trying to put UK on Tennessee level. You are going to have to try harder than that. pic.twitter.com/1tQ9H08waF
