Tennessee LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin says he's done for the year, may try to obtain medical redshirt
It’s official: Jalen Reeves-Maybin is done for the season.
Tennessee’s senior linebacker made that announcement before coach Butch Jones’ weekly news conference Tuesday, confirming to reporters that he underwent season-ending shoulder surgery. Reeves-Maybin, who has already graduated, said he hasn’t ruled out trying to obtain a medical redshirt to play next season.
Several outlets had previously reported the linebacker’s season was over after a shoulder injury he sustained against Ohio on Sept. 17 limited him against Florida the following week. He hasn’t played since then, though he said he spent six hours in treatment every day during the week leading up to the Florida game.
