Tennessee will lose some depth on offense, as a former 4-star recruit is reportedly headed for the transfer portal.

WR Walker Merrill, a Brentwood, Tennessee native, has entered the transfer portal, according to On3 Sports, after he appeared in 22 career games with one start. He caught 3 touchdown passes this season, and overall made 8 catches for 116 yards.

His first touchdown catch came against Ball State, and Merrill also set a career-high in receiving yards with 46 in win over Akron on a pair of receptions, including a 38-yard TD pass from Joe Milton III early in the fourth quarter for his second score of the season.

Last season, Merrill appeared in 10 games with one start during his rookie campaign, and saw action as a reserve in the slot, playing 81 total offensive snaps.

Coming out of high school, Merrill was a consensus top-10 player in the state of Tennessee, and received offers from 23 schools.
