Tennessee has released its first depth chart of the 2019 season and despite the season opener against Georgia State being just days away, the Volunteers, at least officially, have no answers on either line of scrimmage.

The depth chart released by Tennessee features no answers on the line of scrimmage, on either side of the ball, as all five starting offensive line spots and all three defensive line spots are listed with an “OR” when listing the players competing for those starting spots.

Juniors Trey Smith and Aubrey Solomon are two linemen that would likely be penciled in as starters if they were fully available to play. While that isn’t the case on Rocky Top, at least not yet, Pruitt offered up the latest on those two players on Monday.

During his Monday press conference, Pruitt noted that Trey Smith will be a game-time decision for Georgia State and that nothing has changed with Aubrey Solomon’s waiver status.

“The plan has not changed with Trey, our doctors and medical folks will continue to work hard to try and find a way to allow him the opportunity to play,” Pruitt said. “He has had a chance to participate in a couple of practices this camp. We are just going to kinda stay the course there. It will really be a game-time decision with that.”

When it comes to Solomon, Tennessee will continue to practice him in anticipation for playing in the game — regardless of whether the team has an answer on his status or not.

“Aubrey Solomon is another topic that always comes up — same thing there. Hadn’t heard anything yet and we are going to continue to practice like he’s going to play,” Pruitt added.
