If Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano has ever looked like he has something tucked up his sleeve, it was when reporters asked him about the recent trash talk from Florida linebacker David Reese.

Two weeks ago when asked if he’s ever felt sorry for an opposing quarterback, Reese said just once — it was Guarantano last year when the Gators routed the Volunteers, 47-21.

“Only quarterback I’ve ever felt sorry for was maybe last year against Tennessee because he looked like he had enough,” Reese told reporters.

This week, one reporter asked Guarantano about the comment and his confidence level against the Gators after last year’s game. The quarterback’s kept his response short.

“Still the same,” he said.

Judging by the smirk on his face, Tennessee either has the secret to beating Florida this year, or Guarantano really wanted to say more back to Reese. He didn’t, though, so now we’ll see if Guarantano’s play does any talking this Saturday.
