ULM DC declares Arch Manning doesn't inspire fear ahead of Week 4 matchup
ULM defensive coordinator Earnest Hill wants the world to know that he’s not afraid of Arch Manning.
There’s some uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position at Texas as Quinn Ewers deals with an abdominal injury. Thus, there’s a possibility Manning will be the starter when the team takes on UL Monroe in Week 4.
However, Hill made it known that Manning getting the start won’t change his thought process.
“We have some kids on our team who played against him in New Orleans [in high school], and a couple guys done beat him already,” Hill boldly declared. “So, they don’t hold too much fear against him. So, they’re not gonna hold any fear against him coming up here [on Saturday].”

It’s probably not the smartest idea to give the opposing team bulletin board material, especially when you’re already 44.5-point underdogs per ESPN Bet.
However, Hill’s comments didn’t stop there. The coach also stated his belief that the Longhorns will overlook the Warhawks.
“We gotta prepare. It doesn’t matter what people say. Texas – they know they’re playing against a mediocre Group of Five team,” Hill said. “Let’s be honest, they’re not gonna prepare like they normally do. That’s why we are [preparing], and we’re gonna go try to do our best and see where the chips fall.”

It’s not unheard of for ranked teams to overlook Group of 5 teams — see Notre Dame against Northern Illinois in Week 2.
The Longhorns, though, are the nation’s No. 1 team and have their eyes set on a return to the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns and Warhawks will kick off on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
