Clark Lea saw Mike Wright come in and have a solid performance last week in the last-minute loss to South Carolina. And because of Ken Seals’ finger injury, Wright will give it another go this week against Mississippi State.

Seals missed the South Carolina game because of the finger injury on his throwing hand he suffered the previous week against Florida. The finger is not yet at 100 percent.

Wright last week nearly pulled out a win at South Carolina, as he was 11-for-21 passing for 206 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also had 15 carries for 41 yards. Wright also added a dose of athleticism to the Vandy offense, and he showed off a big-play ability with a 52-yard pass to Will Sheppard in the third quarter, a completion that gave VU a 17-14 lead. It was the Commodores’ longest of the season.
