Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason has worked quickly to fill the open position on his coaching staff and hired former Commodore coach Warren Belin. Belin will serve as outside linebackers coach following the news that assistant coach Osia Lewis has been diagnosed with cancer.

Belin returns to Nashville after serving on the Wake Forest staff the last four seasons. According to Adam Sparks of the Tennessean, Lewis has been moved to an off-the-field role for the time being.

Monday was the first day of spring football for the Commodores, with Belin already in attendance and fielding questions regarding his new role with the team.

Belin has eight seasons of experience with Vanderbilt, in addition to one season spent with Georgia and another two spent in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers.
