SEC week 13 schedule, times and TV lineup

Updated scores: Jon is 58-36 ATS and 80-14 overall while Kevin is 52-42 ATS and 77-12 overall

Mississippi State (-2.5) at Arkansas

Jon: This will turn out to be a slugfest between State and Arkansas. MSU is tough against the run, and Arkansas is very one-dimensional on offense. I like State on the road to win and cover. Mississippi State 31, Arkansas 28

Kevin: Mississippi State is a more talented roster on both sides of the ball. I like Dan Mullen to get the win here and cover. Miss St 24, Arkansas 14.

Georgia Southern at Florida (-27.5)

Jon: This is Florida’s only gimmie in the last several weeks, and the Gators will take care of business and the defense will dominate, but their offense won‘t cover that massive spread. Florida 28, Georgia Southern 10

Kevin: Florida doesn’t cover large spreads with its current offense. Florida 24, Georgia Southern 3.

Kentucky at Georgia (-23.5)

Jon: Georgia gets back into the win column this week against the Wildcats, and the Bulldogs can’t let the Cats hang around for four quarters. Georgia 38, Kentucky 13

Kevin: I like Georgia to put up some points. I like them to cover the spread. Georgia 41, Kentucky 10.

Texas A&M at LSU (-4.5)

Jon: I love Texas A&M on the road with their backs against the wall. Johnny Manziel’s Heisman and a BCS bowl bid will be on the line. It’s going to be tough, but I like the Aggies on the road. They’re undefeated in road games under Kevin Sumlin in two seasons. Texas A&M 49, LSU 44

Kevin: Shootout! I like Manziel to torch this LSU defense which I still think is very mediocre. Obviously, the Aggie defense isn’t anything special as well, so look for some serious point scoring. I’m hoping for a Manziel Heisman moment! Texas A&M 51, LSU 41.

Missouri (-2.5) at Ole Miss

Jon: This is the toughest game of the week to pick . Both teams are hot, and their offenses are really playing well. And both teams have better-than-advertised defenses. I’m a believer in Mizzou this week; they go on the road and get it done against a very talented and formidable Rebels squad. Missouri 41, Ole Miss 39

Kevin: Wow. What a game this is going to be. I’m going to be firmly planted on the couch watching this one. Mizzou is the more overall talented team. It’s going to be a tough environment, but I like the more talented Mizzou to win, but I think it comes down to a single point or two. Mizzou 35, Ole Miss 33.

Chattanooga at Alabama (-49)

Jon: This won’t even be close. Why is Alabama playing Chattanooga again? Alabama 48, Chattanooga 3

Kevin: Alabama wins big. Alabama 45, Chattanooga 0.

Vanderbilt at Tennessee (-2.5)

Jon: This is another tough rivalry game to pick, and Vanderbilt has been handling teams this season that self destruct down the stretch. Although Tennessee should win this game at home, I’m going with the Dores on the road to wreck the Vols’ bowl hopes. Vanderbilt 31, Tennessee 28

Kevin: Important game for both programs. I usually lean toward Vanderbilt with James Franklin at the helm. They always come ready to play, but the Vols are starting to get back into the mode of defending their home turf well. I’m going with the Vols here. Tennessee 27, Vanderbilt 24.

Coastal Carolina at South Carolina (-34.5)

Jon: Watch out for 10-win Coastal Carolina! I’m just yanking your chain. Just don’t let Coastal hang around like last year against Wofford. That was a tough one to watch. South Carolina 40, Coastal 10

Kevin: Snoozefest. South Carolina 35, Coastal 7.

  • I think I’d rather Mizzou blow us out than to lose in another close game like we did to A&M or Auburn. Just win please. Hotty Toddy!

    • I’m with St. Louis Gamecock here, I’ll be pulling for the Rebels on Saturday! Hotty Toddy!

    • Laughing with you here. Certain kinds of loses are just sick. ie. Georgia’s last week. I’m still laughing at the GA coaching staff falling over the chalk line at the end. And the Auburn receiver being interviewed and trying to sound like this happened because of some ritual attitude he took with him on that play and the rest of his daily life. Funny stuff. BUT PAINFUL. grin.

  • I agree PCB – just win. Beat Mizzou!!! Please!

  • Kentucky will cover the spread. Go Cats!

  • Hey guys. Hogs win this one. WPS!

  • Mizzou this year can be what Texas Tech was in 2008. We win this, and we’re back in the SEC Championship talk for the next year. This could very well be our biggest home game since LSU in 2003. I just hope Bo Wallace doesn’t become Jevan Snead next year.

    • Why would you think that Mississippi would be crossed of the list for winning the SEC next year even if they lose to Missouri? The list of teams that could win the SEC next year is long and Mississippi and Missouri are both most certainly on that list.

  • Miss state over Arkansas, Missouri will handle Ole Miss, A&M over LSU, Tenn over Vandy, Georgia and Kentucky may be a little closer then most think, they always seem to give us a hard time. Non SEC player to watch Saturday, Kevin Ellison the QB of Georgia Southern. He is from Habersham Central where Tavarres King also went. He is tenth behind Hershel Walker on the all time Georgia High school TD records. Couldn’t believe this kid got passed up by the bigger colleges. Probably because his high school ran the option when he was attending.

  • I gotta go with Ole Miss on this one. Ole Miss’ resume is much better than Mizzou’s in my opinion. Mizzou’s best win is against a 6-4 Georgia team that was missing a ton of starters and lost to No. 12 South Carolina at home. Ole Miss has lost to Bama, Auburn, and A&M, and beat LSU and crushed a 7-3 Texas at Texas. Ole Miss has been tested a lot this year. Plus playing at home is going to be hard to beat Ole Miss.

  • Maybe the difference in the Missouri v Mississippi game will be depth. If the SEC west is a lot stronger than the east then Mississippi could even win it.

On the other hand we might see the Chase Daniel and Brad Smith play-book/ + extended roster from Missouri if the game is close. Pinkel will probably turn Henson and Steckel completely loose, we might even see the anti-Pinkel with two quarterbacks. Laughs, enjoy it Tigers, you’ve earned it and Mississippi is a worthy challenger can’t wait to see the Rebels because the quality of play they’re putting out right now is taking them to a very good bowl.

  • if a&m can beat the rebs w/out a defense then i’m hoping zou’s defense will be the difference.
