Alabama’s Week 3 game at Wisconsin has a kickoff time.

On Monday, FOX announced that the Crimson Tide’s trip to Madison will be a Big Noon Saturday game on Sept. 14. The game will kick off at noon ET/11 a.m. CT, and air on FOX.

Tide’s first test under DeBoer before the measuring stick game

The Wisconsin game will be the third contest Alabama plays in Kalen DeBoer’s tenure. It’s the first Power conference opponent the Crimson Tide will play in 2024, and should be the first real test for UA.

Alabama’s season opens with Western Kentucky at home on Aug. 31. WKU was an 8-5 team in 2023, capping the season on a 3-game winning streak, including a bowl victory over Old Dominion.

Coming off a 1-11 season in 2022, USF experienced an impressive turnaround in 2023 under first-year head coach Alex Golesh, a former Tennessee assistant. The Bulls were 1-2 after the closer-than-expected loss to Alabama in Tampa, but finished the regular season 6-6 and defeated Syracuse 45-0 in the Boca Raton Bowl.

Playing bowl teams from Conference USA and the AAC is a step up from FCS openers some teams play early, but the Tide’s real first test under DeBoer should come in Madison.

Luke Fickell enters his second season as Wisconsin’s head coach. A former interim head coach at Ohio State, Fickell took Cincinnati to new heights in his tenure (2017-22), going 57-18 with a College Football Playoff appearance.

Last season, the Badgers went 7-5 before falling to LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl. UW brought in Tyler Van Dyke, a Miami transfer with starting experience, at quarterback this offseason.

Wisconsin plays its first two games of the season at home in Camp Randall. The Badgers will play Western Michigan and South Dakota before hosting Alabama.

After traveling to Madison, the Crimson Tide will enter SEC play. Alabama has an early-season bye before hosting Georgia on Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
