Alabama center Ryan Kelly and defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson have been named semifinalists for the Outland Trophy.

The Outland Trophy is given to the top lineman in college football.

Kelly and Robinson have been important players for the Crimson Tide, who are currently 10-1 and ranked second in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Kelly is a three-year starter at center. He has not allowed a sack this season. He and the rest of the Crimson Tide offensive line have also helped Derrick Henry rush for 1,526 yards and 21 touchdowns. Henry is considered a favorite for the Heisman Trophy.

Robinson, a junior, is the only defensive lineman on the list, as well as the only underclassman. He has made 36 tackles, including seven tackles for loss. He has three sacks, eight quarterback hurries, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery. He has also blocked an extra point try.

Kelly and Robinson are two of the six semifinalists for the award. The other four are Baylor offensive tackle Spencer Drango, Stanford guard Joshua Garnett, Indiana offensive tackle Jason Spriggs and Notre Dame offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley.

The three Outland Trophy finalists will be announced on Tuesday. The award will be given on Dec. 10 during The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.

Three Alabama players have won the Outland Trophy. Offensive tackle Chris Samuels won it in 1999, offensive tackle Andre Smith got the award in 2008 and offensive lineman Barrett Jones won it with the 2011 national champions.
