While jumping out to a 5-0 start in SEC play (8-0 overall), the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide have been untouchable, dominating four out of five opponents and holding on for a win against a tough Texas A&M team in College Station.

Overall, the Crimson Tide have outscored conference foes by a whopping 238-38 margin, holding every team but the Aggies under 10 points.

Alabama’s start has been so dominant that it set an SEC record for largest victory margin through five conference games:

Heading into a well-deserved bye week, the Crimson Tide’s schedule gets a bit tougher down the stretch, as games against LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn still loom large.

Though it will be tough for coach Nick Saban’s crew to keep up its dominant level of play in those remaining three SEC games, it would be unwise to count the Crimson Tide out, as their defense is one of the best in the country.

It appears as if Alabama may be in for some closer games, at least, but it also wouldn’t be surprising to see the Tide pick up three more blowout wins.
