A second-round draft pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2010, former Alabama star Javier Arenas hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2014.

After three seasons in Kansas City, Arenas spent the 2013 season with the Arizona Cardinals and played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2014.

Since then, Arenas has been absent from NFL action. However, on Thursday, AL.com reported that the ex-Crimson Tide defensive back and kick/punt returner was signing with the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League.

Ottawa won the Grey Cup (Canada’s Super Bowl equivalent) last season. The Redblacks begin preseason play on June 8 and have their regular season on June 23.
