Miller Forristall earned himself another year in Tuscaloosa.

The third-year tight end was granted a medical redshirt after missing nearly all of 2017 because of a knee injury, according to AL.com. That means he’ll be a sophomore next season.

Forristall went down with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 3 against Colorado State. He had 1 catch for 12 yards in 2017, but he played less than the 30 percent threshold required for a medical redshirt.

The Cartersville, Ga. will add some needed depth to Alabama’s group of pass catchers in 2018. As a true freshman, Forristall hauled in 5 catches for 73 yards.

Alabama will kick off spring football on March 20.
