Former LSU standout Tyrann Mathieu recently called himself “the best player in the world.” As one might imagine, some of his peers took issue with the comment, including former Alabama DB Landon Collins.

Collins appeared to be referencing the Honey Badger when he boasted on Instagram about having started in all 32 New York Giants games since he was drafted. Mathieu has yet to log a complete season without being sidelined.

Hold all that noise 32 straight and counting 💯

Collins then took to Twitter, when he referenced a Week 16 matchup with Mathieu’s team, the Arizona Cardinals, as an opportunity to show he’s the better player.

Mathieu has since deleted some of his replies to Collins, but AL.com captured a screenshot of the two going back and forth:

It probably won’t be the last time Mathieu hears from another elite defensive back.

Collins earned All-Pro recognition last season after posting an impressive stat line of 125 tackles, four sacks, five interceptions and 13 passes defended. Mathieu was an All-Pro in 2015 when he had 89 tackles, one sack, five interceptions and 17 passes defended.
