NFL teams may consider “tanking for Tua” in 2019, but ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. says one of Tua Tagovailoa’s teammates is actually the No. 1 prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Kiper recently unveiled his latest “big board” for the upcoming draft with Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy in the top spot. Kiper visited ESPN’s “Get Up,” where he was asked about ranking Jeudy above Tagovailoa and all the other top prospects.

“Same as late May, (you have) to ask who is the best overall player and I think Jerry Jeudy is,” Kiper said. “Jeudy averaged over 19 yards a catch with 14 touchdowns (last season). He had 22 more catches than his next closest teammate and they are loaded with talent at that spot.

“Jerry Jeudy could’ve been a great prospect in the 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s. He’s tremendous at running routes and setting up a corner. He’s complete. He’s NFL-ready. He’s a great, great football player. He’s been No. 1 on my board since early May and he’s going to remain there for a while.”

We’ll have to wait until next year obviously to find out which Crimson Tide teammate goes first in the draft, but they’ll both have plenty of opportunities in the coming weeks to prove they belong as top-five picks.
