Commentator Verne Lundquist has been a staple within the SEC for quite sometime.

The 76-year-old boisterous and energetic figure has called SEC contests on CBS for the past 17 years. “Uncle Verne” has truly been a staple within the sport — and thus is both an iconic and beloved individual.

On Thursday, Lundquist — who will retire at the conclusion of this season — was a guest on Nick Saban’s weekly radio show.

The two chummed it up as if they were lifelong friends — reliving many fun memories, including this one:

Lundquist spoke about Saban’s generosity with fans, and Saban alludes to his penchant for mimicking the broadcaster during press conferences:
