The saga of 4-star DE Jarez Parks’ commitment has taken another turn.

After delaying his decision this morning at his signing ceremony, and drawing the interest of other SEC programs, Parks will reportedly head to Tuscaloosa as a grayshirt, meaning he will wait until January to go on scholarship and join the team.

Bleacher Report released a video (below) this afternoon showing Parks commit to Alabama in Paris. The video’s release, hours after the Sebastian River (Fla.) defensive end delayed his announcement, led to conflicting reports and confusion as to Parks’ status in the Crimson Tide recruiting class.

247Sports affiliate BamaOnLine has confirmed that Parks has committed to Alabama as a grayshirt candidate. While the Crimson Tide has to wait until 2018 to play Parks, the team is getting a 6-foot-2, 253-pound prospect rated the No. 7 weak-side defensive end, No. 17 Florida prospect and No. 93 overall recruit.

It’s a bittersweet ending for Parks, who gets to go to Alabama, his top school, but will have to wait a season to join the team.
