Nick Saban reveals who would be starting QB if it was game day
The battle for Alabama’s starting QB job continues, but if it ended today, coach Nick Saban knows who would be under center for him.
Cooper Bateman, Blake Barnett, David Cornwell and Jalen Hurts are in the running for the starting job, but Saban told ESPN’s Chris Low who he’d choose as his starter with a little less than five months before the Tide’s season opener against USC on Sept. 3.
Nick Saban told me Cooper Bateman would probably be Alabama's starting QB if they played today, but that the race is far from over.

Bateman, the 6-foot-3, 224-pound redshirt junior from Murray, Utah, completed 71.2 percent of his passes for 291 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs across six appearances at QB last season.
