The Arkansas Razorbacks have had an ongoing quarterback battle between SMU graduate transfer Ben Hicks and former Texas A&M QB Nick Starkel.

Both players are playing well this summer, but a decision could be made soon by head coach Chad Morris.

During a no-contact scrimmage on Saturday, Starkel was the one going through the reps with the first-team offense (via 247Sports):

Perhaps the most notable takeaway from Saturday’s walk-through practice was junior quarterback Nick Starkel running with the first unit while senior Ben Hicks was the second quarterback in. While it could mean nothing — especially considering our sources still suggest Hicks will indeed be the starter — it definitely caught the fans’ attention once it hit social media and the message boards.

Starkel has two years of eligibility remaining, while Hicks only has one, so perhaps that’s an advantage for Starkel.

We’ll see who eventually gets the starting nod, but it seems a decision could be coming quickly.
