Here’s how Arkansas graded after its 21-14 loss to No. 17 Missouri:

Offense: C

For the sixth straight game, Arkansas scored on its opening drive. The Hogs marched right down the field on a 11-play, 70-yard touchdown drive to take an early 7-0 lead, but Brandon Allen and company couldn’t get much going after that. The Razorbacks gained just 288 yards of total offense, with 155 of that coming on the ground. Quarterback Brandon Allen got off to a quick start completing six of his first seven passes, but struggled down the stretch as the Missouri pass rush beat him up in the second half. Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins disappeared down the stretch, as Arkansas almost exclusively passed on its final drive. An Alex Collins fumble iced the game for the Tigers with just over two minutes left.

Defense: B-

The defense got off to a quick start, but had no answer for the Tigers late. Arkansas dominated the trenches early with Trey Flowers, Darius Philon, Taiwan Johnson and JaMichael Winston spending a lot of time in the Mizzou backfield in the first 30 minutes. The Razorbacks’ defense scoreless streak ended at 148:58, totaling 11 full quarters and 16 minutes. As the scoreboard turned to the fourth quarter, however, Missouri dominated the Hogs defense, especially on the trenches as Russell Hansbrough and Marcus Murphy gashed Arkansas on the ground. The Tigers dominated the time of possession by more than five minutes, leaving the Razorbacks gassed late in the fourth quarter as Mizzou marched down the field on consecutive drives.

Special Teams: A-

Dan Skipper blocked a field goal in the first half, holding the 14-6 lead for the Razorbacks. Sam Irwin-Hill dashed 23 yards for a first down to convert a fake punt, while Irwin-Hill averaged more than 40 yards per punt and pinned Mizzou inside its 20-yard line five times.

Coaching: C+

Bret Bielema made a gutsy call on the 4th down in which Irwin-Hill converted on the fake punt. However, on the very next fourth down, Bielema again decided to go for it and called a direct snap which Missouri stuffed for a turnover on downs. During crunch time in the fourth quarter and Missouri stormed back to take the lead, offensive coordinator abandoned the run and put the game on the shoulders of a battered and bruised quarterback who got worse as the game progressed.

Overall: B-

It was the tale of two halves for the Razorbacks on Friday afternoon. Arkansas looked like it had again brought its momentum from the past two outings to Columbia, but Missouri absolutely dominated the second half. The Hogs failed to convert on plenty of opportunities throughout the game, and played their most undisciplined game in recent weeks. Penalties, mistakes and play-calling was the demise of the Razorbacks on this Black Friday.
