During Auburn’s loss at South Carolina on Saturday, starting forward Anfernee McLemore was injured on a scary-looking play that resulted in his ankle pointing the wrong way.

McLemore was taken off the court on a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a dislocated ankle.

Shortly after the game, McLemore took to Twitter to thank Auburn fans for their support and provide an update on his injury:

McLemore is surprisingly positive after the devastating, season-ending injury, but it’s good the damage wasn’t even more severe.

The Tigers will certainly miss him moving forward, but coach Bruce Pearl will have to figure out how to manage his roster without the talented sophomore from here on out.

Next year, though, McLemore should be ready to go.
