Many in the college football world want to know when John Franklin III, Auburn’s explosive backup quarterback, will get more playing time.

That’s a hard question to answer for coach Gus Malzahn, though, since starting QB Sean White has been great in recent weeks.

White has thrown for 1,187 yards and six touchdowns this season, with three of his touchdown passes coming in the last two weeks.

Ahead of this weekend’s game against Arkansas, Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema said the Hogs need to make sure they don’t overlook White, according to The Ledger-Enquirer:

“He’s very even-keeled, he has a great demeanor,” Bielema said. “I think he leads SEC in completion percentage and that doesn’t happen by chance. They put him in good position and he makes accurate throws.”

White also earned the praise of Malzahn, who said his quarterback continues to improve his skill set as the weeks go on:

“Sean’s gotten better every time out,” Malzahn said. “Last game he played a very complete game. He’s got a lot of confidence. He’s practiced well the last two weeks. I know his teammates have a lot of confidence in him. He’s getting nothing but better.”

If No. 21 Auburn is going to defend its home turf against No. 17 Arkansas on Saturday evening, the Tigers are going to need a big performance from White.
