All the pieces are in place for Auburn’s offense to put up impressive passing numbers in 2017. New offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham appear to be a perfect match, as Lindsey has installed a more pass-oriented offense which gives Stidham the chance to show off his strong arm.

Stidham is surrounded by a number of former blue-chip recruits at wide receiver. None of the Auburn wideouts have proven themselves yet, but sophomore WR Eli Stove is confident the group has the potential to be remembered as one of the SEC’s best.

“I don’t want to sound cocky, but I think we can be the best group of receivers that Auburn has ever had, but in the SEC, too,” Stove told AL.com’s James Crepea. “I’m not cocky, I’m just saying, if we keep working hard and doing everything we’re supposed to do catching every ball, every deep ball, every 50-50 ball thrown to us, I think we can be a good group — maybe the best group.”

Ryan Davis is expected to be the top Auburn pass-catcher this season, but there should be plenty of touches for the speedy Stove, who had 23 catches for 224 yards last season.
