Cam Newton's message to Panthers fans

Cam Newton had something to say to Panthers fans on Friday, and no, it wasn’t a response to former NFL head coach Jim Fassel’s claim that his shoes cost him the Super Bowl.

Newton sent out this Instagram post, thanking them for their support. He also pointed out that he isn’t perfect, while making it clear he’s going to win his way.

This season has been an incredible journey and I want to thank PANTHERNAT1ON and all of the fans that iNSP1RED us to great achievements. iAMnøtPERFËCT and I will make mistakes but I will continue to work on improving each day trying toPERFECTallMYimPERFECT1ON. Despite the loss to the Broncos in Super Bowl 50, the future is bright for Newton and the Panthers. The team finished 17-2 and has a relatively young team. Carolina was also one of, if not the, most balanced team by leading the NFL in scoring (31.2 points per game) while ranking 6th in scoring defense (19.3) during the regular season.
