Former Auburn K Cody Parkey struggled in his first game with the Cleveland Browns last weekend, missing three of the six field goals he attempted, including the would-be game winner.

But, according to Cleveland coach Hue Jackson, the Browns aren’t going to give up on the former Tiger that quickly:

“I know everybody will say it came down to the field goals,” Cleveland coach Hue Jackson said in his postgame press conference, “but I’m not going to put that kind of pressure on Cody. Cody just got off a plane with us, and I don’t know him as well as I know this chair right here. I’m getting to know him, and he came out there and he attempted to do what a lot of people don’t do in front of the world and the country and try to kick a ball through the uprights. It was tough. Like I told him, and I told all our guys, I love them to death, and we’ve just got to keep fighting. We’ve got to find a way to get over the hump, and we will.”

The Browns travel to Washington to take on the Redskins in a matchup of struggling teams on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Eastern time.
