Auburn linebackers coach Travis Williams had good news for the Tigers defense at the McIntosh Area Auburn Club in Griffin, Ga. on Thursday.

AL.com’s Tom Green reports that Williams confirmed that Auburn LB Kenney “K.J.” Britt will be able to participate in the Tigers’ summer workouts.

“He’s healthy now, so we’re anxious to see him in the fall,” Williams said before speaking to the club.

The Oxford, Ala. prospect was given a 4-star grade and ranked the No. 14 prospect in Alabama in the 2017 class by the 247Sports Composite. Britt enrolled early, but sat was sidelined this spring due to an unspecified leg injury.

The 6-foot, 232-pound Britt was rated the No. 15 inside linebacker of the class. Williams expects Britt to be a contributor this fall.

“We didn’t recruit (him and Chandler Wooten) to sit on the sideline,” Williams said. “They got to play. So, we do not recruit guys to sit on the sideline. If they’re ready to play, they’re going to play.”
