After 11 seasons as a Green Bay Packers assistant, Joe Whitt Jr. has found a new home.

Whitt, a former walk-on wide receiver and assistant at Auburn, was one of the the seven staff announced by the Cleveland Browns. Whitt’s official title is listed as pass game coordinator/secondary coach. Whitt initially walked on at Auburn before earning a scholarship. Shoulder and knee injuries forced him to end his playing career two years later. He got into coaching in 2000 as a student assistant on Tommy Tuberville’s staff.

The headliner of Cleveland’s staff hires was Alabama defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi as the Browns’ new defensive line coach. Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens played at UA from 1993-97.

Sounds like there will be plenty of Iron Bowl trash talk around the football facilities in Cleveland.
