Hugh Freeze theorizes why he's often blamed for 'throwing somebody under the bus'
Hugh Freeze has had a tough year on the field, but also off the field with the public perception. He has been accused multiple times this year of being someone who points the blame at someone else, rather than accepting it as the head coach of Auburn.
He has been called out by people such as Paul Finebaum, as well as his former quarterback at Ole Miss, Bo Wallace.
During his time with the media Monday, Freeze talked about how it doesn’t matter what he says, it is always going to be taken as him deflecting the blame.
Hugh Freeze said every time he tries to explain "how something really is," he gets blamed for "throwing somebody under the bus."

Hugh Freeze: "Everybody seems to think that when I just tell you what really happened, I'm throwing somebody under the bus."

“Everybody seems to think that when I just tell you what really happened, I’m throwing somebody under the bus,” Freeze said.
A lot of this has started when Freeze mentioned earlier in the season that Tigers had to stop turning the ball over. The Tigers are currently 132nd out of 133 teams with 15 turnovers, with only East Carolina have more.
In the loss to Oklahoma, the Tigers turned the ball over only once, but it was a game-winning interception for the Sooners.
For Auburn this week, everybody is going to have to be great and on the same page when the Tigers travel to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs.
“In the loss to Oklahoma, the Tigers turned the ball over only once, but it was a game-winning interception for the Sooners.”
Two missed FGs hurt more than the INT. Thorn, for the most part, had a great game. AU should have continued to run the ball as Hunter etc gashed the Oklahoma defense many times.
This. I actually enjoyed the heck out of most of this game. Gave me a good idea of how competitive we can be if we can start clicking. Right now it’s a bit “if” but maybe it’s shrinking slowly.
Freeze is all over the map when it comes to coaching. I would love to have a consistent way of doing things. If you’re going to run the ball, run the ball. If you’re going to throw the ball, make sure the receivers are in the right spots and the QB knowing NOT to throw the ball directly to the defenders.
Both Hank and Thorne have been erratic at times for no apparent reason. This is why dual threat QBs are good for the game. If you don’t see a path to throw, run!
Freeze seems lost on the sidelines at times.
NO, Freeze still has no QB. When the game was on the line, “Don’t turn it over”. He did.
“NO, Freeze still has no QB. ”
Which….falls squarely on Freeze.
Uncle Hugh. People accuse you of throwing people under bus because you do!!
Freeze gets blamed for pointing out what everyone saw on TV with their own eyes. When he does that, he is “throwing players under the bus”. It is especially laughable when the media says this when they will “throw a player under the bus”, though they call it reporting. You know like reporting a player that has gotten in some minor trouble that many kids get into or violated some minor team rule. You know, things no one would even know about if the media didn’t throw the player under the bus. They will also show video over and over of a player making a terrible, or stupid play, or in some cases plays. These kids are either grown and being paid for what they do and therefore open to criticism, or they are kids to be protected because they are just playing a game. You can’t have both.
LOL he says he had a great games plan and all the play calls were great, had the right defensive. lol A little narcissist, eh LOL
The game plan was pretty sound offensively, minus a few decisions (e.g. 3rd & goal call, 51yd FGA, pick six play call). Two of those being on player execution. 480yds (150 more than UT put up) against that defense translates to a solid offensive game plan.
of course, every game auburn has the best game plan on offense and defense, that’s why y ou lost 3 in a row and will lose at least 3 more
Freeze is a disaster. He figures out a way to lose. This is not going to end well.
Auburn could easily lose 4 more games. But do not worry, Freeze will have the greats game plan and all the right play calls in each of those loses.
Rev Hugh is the definition of a front runner. Loves to take all the praise when things go right and deflect all the blame to others when things go wrong.
The guy doesn’t get it.
It is not Hugh’s fault he called hookers his wife’s lack of affection caused it.
is the Freeze/Auburn secondary ready for the UGA passing game, with no real DL pressure from Aub the UGA QB wil pick them apart
