It’s a big week in the state of Alabama, as the Iron Bowl between the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 6 Auburn Tigers will be held Saturday afternoon at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Current NFL players who went to the two schools are showing their spirit, including Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton.

Newton, who won the 2010 national championship while he was a member of the Auburn Tigers, has been showing his support for his old team this week, as you can see in the photo below, where he is wearing some of his old Auburn gear:

Auburn has a chance to make it back to the championship game this year if it beats Alabama on Saturday afternoon. The two-loss Tigers can still advance to the SEC Championship Game with a win over the Crimson Tide.

Whether Newton will be able to watch the game or not remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say he’ll do whatever he can to catch Saturday afternoon’s huge rivalry game.
