Bruce Pearl’s team is hot, but the attention surrounding his program is about more than basketball.

An FBI investigation resulted in the firing of Auburn assistant Chuck Person after he allegedly funneled money to the families of multiple Auburn players.

On Saturday morning, Pearl is set to make public comments about the investigation. ESPN’s College GameDay will air a one-on-one interview that Pearl did with Jeff Goodman (GameDay begins at 10 a.m. CT).

Here’s a preview of what that’ll include:

It remains to be seen how much detail Pearl will delve into with the circumstances surrounding the FBI investigation. He didn’t share anything new in the preview.

“Chuck called me that morning and he told me briefly what had happened,” Pearl said in the ESPN promo. “And unfortunately, Chuck’s fired, I’ve got 2 assistants that have been put on administrative leave, and the university has put itself under a very strong investigation to try to go through this process.”

Pearl will also discuss his team’s incredible raise as the first-place team in the SEC.

Interestingly enough, that’ll be a day after Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel said on “The Paul Finebaum Show” that he’d be “stunned” if Pearl was the head coach at Auburn next year. That was after Thamel released a cited report that as many as 50 programs will be cited for violations after the lengthy FBI investigation.

Who knows if Pearl’s interview with Goodman will go into detail about his future at Auburn.
