Report: New details released about suspect in custody over Toomer’s Corner fire

The updates keep coming in the suspected arson of a Toomer’s Corner tree.
Following Auburn’s big 18-13 win over LSU on Saturday night, video emerged of a man appearing to light some of the toilet paper draped over the tree on fire, which quickly engulfed the entire tree in flames.
Now, more details have emerged on the suspected arsonist — a 29-year-old Auburn resident, according to WTVM reporter Elizabeth White:
White’s post says the suspect is not an Auburn student and officials are waiting to see just how badly the tree was damaged before determining what charges will be filed.
