Ole Miss over Florida in 2008?
Not to worry, you play up to LSU every season and treat us as your Super Bowl so I'm sure we'll beat Bama this year and blow one @ ARK the next week. But ya, brutal season - yall hung tough with A&M, Bama, UGA and MSU.
Amen. Auburn destroyed LSU this year. Miss State did not. The game is played for 60 mins and we almost staged an improbable comeback down 18 with 3.5 mins left and actually had a pass into the end zone to win the game. Had we simply converted the 2PT we would've been setting up a game tying FG. They dominated us for most of the game but the truth is the game was really decided on 2 huge plays (TD's of 56 and 74 yds). Not to be "that guy" but If we hold them on 1 or 2 of those plays (both were on 3rd down in MSU territory) we win the game. But we didn't, and they won. Just tired of hearing about how LSU got "throttled" by MSU. It was a 5 point win with a 40 yard pass that came up a yard short of ruining their season. It's wasn't like A&M who scored 2 late garbage TD's to cut a 31 pt lead to a 17 pt lead, we actually had a shot at winning the game and they know it. Just ask any MSU fan that was there. They went from ringing those cowbells to sitting at the edge of their seats biting their nails real quick. It was their closest game of the year.
Ahh I left out LSU's gut wrenching 2012 last minute loss at home to Bama (Yeldon screen pass) Also the 2011 (technically Jan '12) BCS Title game - Bama over LSU. Not the game itself, just the fact that LSU beat Bama in their house at night and had to play them again. Saban was sitting comfortably at home already game planning for LSU while we had to go to ATL and beat a very good UGA team. Seems fair.
Agreed. Absolutely brutal way to lose.
I was there and agree. TENN should've beat us.
How about LSU's 9-6 win @ Alabama in 2011? Oh wait, that home loss didn't "count" because Bama still got into the BCS Title game. LSU over TENN in the 2001 SECCG. Prevented the Vols from playing Miami in the BCS Title game (now that I think about it, Vol's fans should be thanking us...that could've been ugly). LSU over UGA in 2003 (twice) - again, knocking them out of the BCS Title picture, twice. LSU over Bama 2010 - had Bama won that game and not blown a 24 point home lead to Auburn, they would've played Oregon for the crystal ball Auburn @ Bama 2010 - Bama was out of contention at this point with 2 loses but the opportunity to ruin Auburn's undefeated title run and beat Cam Newton was huge to them. As previously mentioned, they blew a 24 point home loss and Cam ran around Bryant-Denny telling the fans to "shhhh!". Other than LSU beating Bama, it doesn't get much better than that.
