Agreed, but even more so if you don't like, don't watch. Nobody makes you watch Cam Newton play football.
Does Aaron Hernandez have any eligibility left?
First off, KTRG is based out of Columbia, not STL. Secondly, this moron never addresses the fact that his bill is BS, due to the fact that scholarships are not taxpayer dollars, but rather provided by the Tiger Scholarship Fund via private donors. You can't regulate something that you have no right to regulate in the first place. I was embarrassed by the hullabaloo that surrounded my beloved university in November, but knowing that idiots such as Brattin have duped even bigger idiots to vote him into a position of power makes me seethe with anger.
Looks like it was mutual disagreement more than anything else. Odom and Kul didn't get along and Kul turned sour towards the program last year when he was passed over for Odom. Guy almost left a top 10 D program to go to "rival" Illinois to prove a point. Kul wasn't going to accept anything less than D coordinator and Odom wasn't about to give it to him.
According to Dave Matter from STL Post, "It's my understanding Odom will still call the defense, so it would be sort of a nominal title. The real priority with a lot of these jobs - other than the offensive coordinator, who needs to be a guy who can develop a system and call plays - is recruiting ability."
OU's offense got worse almost every year he was there, save for 2014 which showed a decent improvement and he still got fired. This year at Ut. St., the O plummeted 20 spots down to 93rd since Heupel took over. This could work out, but I don't see why anyone would be pumped for this hire.
Where does it say that the offensive staff is being retained? Just becasue Coach O got the job doesn't mean everyone is keeping their job. Rumor has it that O is already targeting Heupel from Ut. St. as OC. While I'm not big on that idea, it does lend credence to the belief that he's going to change things up.
Both have valid points. While Stoops isn't the most loyal guy, I'm not impressed with Heupel's resume. Under him, the O ate OU got worse every year, save for 2014, which made a small jump. This year Ut. St. is ranked 91st in total O, which is significantly worse that what they were the 3 previous years.
Why would an OC leave the Big 12 for the SEC? That's like telling someone who likes ecstasy and EDM to leave the rave and go to a couples game night instead.
"HOW is 78% good? Let me tell you that it’s called losing in the SEC West." The statistics you use disprove your own argument. Winning almost 80% of your games is definition of being a winner. Nobody wins 100%, not even Jesus Saban. I hope LSU fires Miles and they end up like Nebraska has since firing Solich; in constant rebuilding mode because their irrational fan base can't understand when they have it good. Pave Les Miles and put up a parking lot...
Yeah, I'm no scout, but you'd got to think that Missouri is better for recruiting. The state has two major metropolitan areas, in KC and STL, with no in state competition. With all due respect to the people of SC, it's largest city is 1/4 the size of Missouri's and you're competing with Dabo for in state recruits.
You're a huge fan of Kiffen, like as an OC? I think the guy knows football, but he's a schmuck. He's proven that time and time again as the face of a program whether it's UT, USC or OAK. Seems like he's at his best when he's the one taking orders, not dolling them out.
That would be fantastic, but nothing has been corroborated, so my fingers are still crossed.
I'm way more excited by the prospect of Herman than I am of Fuente. Not that Fuente wouldn't be a good hire, but with Herman's turn around of Houston, winning the Broyles Award last year and seeing how tOSU's offense has looked since he left, I just feel he's easily the best candidate out there right now. With that said, doesn't mean he wants the job. The recent events haven't helped and Southern Cali is still a premier program.
So, first it was the ref used racial slurs, which was a card obviously played in an effort to gain sympathy, now it's they were just taking orders from the coach. This is such BS. It's clearly a tactical campaign by the lawyer to move responsibility off the players because the effort to blame the official failed. Also, if you're going on national TV to try to exonerate your clients in the court of public opinion, why don't you tell them rocking a mullet is not the best option...
Naw, but it might be the year of the defense.
You forgot John Hamm. Dude was Don Draper and reps Mizzou tirelessly...
Ugh, as a Mizzou fan, the last thing I need is to be "tide over" again...
I'm with ya. Both were great seasons. I'd take a Sugar Bowl champ over a Capitol One champ, but had Murray had 5 more seconds in 2012, you guys probably would have been in the NCG. That was a hell of a season of "Grown Man Football".
Yeah, I mentioned the 2007 year in the FB article post. For Mizzou fans, you can't forget to mention the absolutely epic game between #4 MU and #2 KU that was neck and neck the entire game and ended in a safety sack of Todd Reesing that left 5 pounds of turf on his helmet. That season was a catalyst for everything good that has happened since.
I think the problem most MU fans have with the SEC zeitgeist is the double standard of winning and success. When we came to the league, it was met with a resounding "meh" which I get. Missouri isn't the south, or the east, and played a style of football that was just infiltrating the SEC. It was said that we couldn't succeed or even compete within the conference. Yet, after a bad first season, the program picked up where it left off from the Big 12 and railed of 11, 12 win seasons with division titles and NYD bowl wins. That is competing and that's success. If GA had done the same thing, SEC fans wouldn't be using the arguments used against MU. The problem doesn't lie with SEC fans, it lies with MU fans. Why do we care if fans from other teams aren't patting us on the back? Why should they? They root for other teams. Winning a division isn't the end all and validation of success shouldn't come from fans of other programs. Quit acting like we "deserve" respect; no deserves anything, ever. It's not like if we won either of those two SECCG 'Bama or AU fans would be like "Way to go guys"!
I think Winslow would get my vote as well.
I don't know, you could make an argument that Chase has had a better pro career than all of them. Despite not being a starter, he's been more than efficient in the time he has received. In terms of draft position and physical abilities, Chase has easily surpassed expectations. Now, if only the Rams could undraft Bradford...
Let's see, how did Boise look finishing up the season and how did Ole Miss look? Seriously, you guys lost 4 games, you should be happy you're in the top 20 at all.
If Sean Culkin is our "best" returning pass catcher, we better hope Strong and a few others step up or we're in trouble...
This makes no sense to me. Seems similar to when Frank Haith left Mizzou for Tulsa (not a 100% equal comparison I realize) in where the coach had some sustained success but seemed to feel the expectations of the job where too high for the realities of possible success.
Any idea why Maine hates BYU?
Thanks Drew for ruining our chances to win this game. Everyone knows that in order for Mizzou to win, the entire blogsphere has to be against them. You screwed that up, thanks buddy...
