I think it's called attrition due to competition. Bama had some pretty bad receivers last year, I don't know how many are coming back or if anyone's going to be a star who didn't play last year. But he may have just seen the hand writing on the wall and figured if he was going to see meaningful playing time, it would have to be elsewhere. The sad thing is that's not always the case. If you hang in there, usually an opportunity presents itself. The kid who played QB year before last is a good example. Well, the kid who played last year, too. But FSU caused him most his headaches. What was the kid's name who was under center beofre the dude from FSU played? He was crazy good.
Hell, I don't know. I'm confused as a moonbat and I' not going to take it anymore!!!
I don't know if it's a bylaw that prohibits, but it gives the university the right to say, "No, you can't talk to them," at least. Used to be that way, anyway. And it may well have been prohibited altogether. I just didn't think it was that strong. Maybe it prohibits any sister school from contacting players at other schools. If a kid declares he's transferring, are schools then allowed to contact him? I don't know. They changed a lot of that up a couple of years. I' probably citing rules from 1977.
Two big things stick out to me here. 1) We've only heard one side of the story. 2) It's not at all uncommon for a student athlete to be denied the right to speak with a sister institution about transferring. If he would have said UAB, Southern Miss, Western KY, Ohio State, Notre Dame, I'm willing to bet it would all be over by now. I'm sure there are a few times it's happened, but I'll bet you it's the exception rather than the rule.
Punt 'em. I ain't cryin' on their behalf. I bet there's not a person on this board who gave a rat's ass when UT, the SEC & NCAA set up Bama with the Albert Means BS. Everybody laughed when we even suggested or tried to go into detail to explain things the average Joe wouldn't know, unless he was following particularly closely. Like kramer telling every SEC school to lay off Means...except Bama. I guess he forgot the phone number. He's a puke orange vile and those two factors alone should tell you all you need to know about the case. Oh, but there's A LOT more you don't know. You don't want to know, just as you didn't want to know then. Screw LSU and every other SEC member. I hope you all get the freakin' death penalty tomorrow. And kramer finds himself sleeping under a bridge tonight. Bama made the NE, West and Midwest respect Southern football. We built the SEC. I do have to give UT a little credit because they weren't too far behind Bama in gaining national recognition and winning National Championships. And I used to have a great deal of respect for them. No more. I hope the whole campus falls into a sink hole and the stadium deepest of all. Most of all, I hope phil fulmer, roy adams, tom culpepper, thunder thornton and kramer are there. In the stadium. I've said since the 70s we should go independent and I still believe we should. Let the SEC become another ACC, minus the basketball and lacrosse. So screw ALL Y'ALL when it comes to the NCAA. I don't give a rat's ass if they bust you for jaywalking and shut your asses down. It was fun times when Bama got hammered, wasn't it? Even though Bama is the bellcow hands down. Bama is the breadwinner, hands down. Had Bama stayed with the Southern Conference instead of sliding into the brand spanking new SEC, the Southern Conference would be a big deal now and the SEC may not even exist. I used to be the kinda guy who pulled for all the conference schools when they were playing non-conference opponents. That crap changed forever in Y2K. Especially for the puke orange viles. Tennessee's getting theirs, though. Currently have an eight game win streak against them. Four game win streak against LSU. Last seven games against auburn Bama is 5-2. So things are returning to normal. I just hope like hell we can get Gene Chiznick or Derrick Dooley when Saban goes to the Cowboys. And that's all I have to say about that.
