Tennessee would be way up there thanks to Pat Summitt.
I’m not sure the dynamics to be honest…I do know that Georgia had some amazing halfbacks during the 40s (who am I kidding, they alway seem to have a full stable). I teach 8th grade Georgia History and have asked WW2 vets at my legion post about their experiences fir my class. It just seemed like if you were able and willing (according to these gents) you were hustling to do what you could for the war effort…just seemed that with intensity and uncertainty of the times that football would be an afterthought.
Isn’t a championship during World War II a little suspect? I would have thought most schools would be depleted with the nation having to deal with Nazi and Japanese thugs.
Had something similar to happen at Sanford Stadium (piss from upper deck)...hated that it happened because all the UGA folks that know personally are outstanding people and would never condone the actions like that.
I'll be glad to pass that along...please tell your fans to have the good manners to not to throw bottles of piss from the upper deck of Sanford Stadium on to our fans...that can be perceived as trashy as well.
Doesn't Mississippi have coast? No worries...you'll get a geography class next year in 7th grade...nice try... I am impressed that you were able to correctly spell Mississippi.
So I'm at fault for the education rating for the entire state of Georgia? Are you a product of the Georgia public education system? Come back after you've lost the sting of being butthurt...Einstein.
LOL...only armchair coaches sit in the upper deck...forgot all about that fellow...
Very witty...congrats on reenforcing every negative stereotype about poor white people...and 12 year olds for that matter ...you've done a great job at that..and ironically enough I teach 8th grade Georgia history in Roswell...you'll have that class next year.
Well said, sir...and good luck to UGA the rest of the way as well.
Thank you for "giving" us the win...all of those things certainly contributed to that...along with your secondary being picked apart and being us able to run the ball when we needed to...and sure, you guys do have a good shot at going to the SECCG...you also have a good shot at going to a Florida bowl and losing to a Big 10 team.
Yea...that is exactly what defines an entire program.
Making broad generalizations can be perceived as classless as well...a number of us have been nothing but complementary of your university, alums, and fan base...every fan base has its bad apples...see my post about it raining piss on me and my neighbors at Sanford Stadium...but I would never classify Georgia folks as classless...I live around and work with too many Georgia folks who are 1st class people to know better than to do that.
I was being sincere...I like the guy...he's a damn good coach...anyone who remembers UGA under Goff and Donnan would agree....question: wasn't Coach Richt his own OC when he first started at UGA?
...and I'm not sure that one needs a whole lot of history to be considered relevant...heck, tech has four national championships ...and two trophies named for former coaches...but I would never consider them relevant...
Wouldn't you agree though that his OC is the one blowing it...I'm not sure if he has had Bobo the whole time but I'm sure that Richt would do a better job if he called all the offensive plays...he at fault for holding on to him this long...
I assure you that it was more than one...but if you want to generalize our fanbase that can go both ways...if it makes your loss feel better.
...and I hate that it happened like that because I'm in Athens often researching at the Hargrett and Oconee cemetery and I like Athens and the university...I would not classify all UGA alums as classless because of my experience like you have classified our student section.
Not a claim...a claim implies doubt that it happened...i felt it...and smelled it....as did many folks around me..unfortunately...would expect that sort of thing from UT people, not UGA.
And you need not worry either girlfriend....with what our slightly mediocre defense did (and I mean slightly as in Hitler was slightly nasty) I'm sure Arky, Mizzou, and Auburn are licking their chops...pressure may do us in...crap coaching will do ya'll in.
True dat...it wasn't that long ago when I was a senior and my first year of grad school at Carolina when we didn't win a game for two years straight...took tailgating to a whole new level...
I could not care if was just one point...isn't close games is what has defined this series recently (and before you throw out the history card I'm fully aware that ya'll dominate the series)...thank you all the same.
I couldn't believe it...we were certain that he would ride those horses all night...that Gurley kid had probably one of the most amazing runs I've ever seen...seemed almost parallel with the ground...part man, part beast...it will be in the highlight reel when he is collecting his trophy in December.
I think Richt does have the 'it' factor...I just would like to see him run the offense more so than Bobo...this might be the wake up call that was needed...I hear that Coach Richt and Coach Bobo are better friends than professional colleagues so letting him go May be hard to do...however, it would no shock me if UGA ran the table here on out...auburn, arky, and mizzou look daunting.
Let's not throw stones...I can recall one time when plastic bottles of piss was thrown down on us from the upper deck at Sanford Stadium...and that wasn't from students but from folks who should know better.
...and I hope you are here as well when UGA drops multiple games...
