It is great to see what strides this program has taken since Coach McElwain took the reins. Go Gators!
I agree with tlmoon2112, Tebow wouldn't have done it...at all. I know Kanell loves the role of firebrand that he thinks he fills but he really needs to think about the things he says before he says them. His credibility continues to plummet with each statement. Finebaum might think he deserves respect as a colleague but Kanell knows very little in the way of football analysis. David Pollack takes crap from UGA folks because they think he hates Georgia now. The reality is he is not trying to sound like a homer. He wants his analysis to be taken seriously. Kanell wants to have FSU's baby. He is such a homer for the Seminoles that he couldn't begin to give anyone fair analysis. Didn't mean to rant but I hate that guy.
This is what happens when a program achieves some success. Coach Mullen will get better at this part of his job if his success continues.
Good for this coach. I have a few friends that are coaches at both the high school and college (very small school) level. They all work their asses off to put a good team on the field. Herbie should take a little time and spend it watching what a coaching staff for an FCS team does to get ready for one of the "sacrificial" games. It can't be easy putting in the hard work knowing you're going to most likely be slaughtered.
Please Dear God, Make sure that there is never a half rate coach named Dabo who will ever grace the Florida sidelines as head coach of the Gators. Amen.
I don't think Derek Mason should get too comfortable in Nashville. He won't be around long. The situation at Vandy just let's you know James Franklin is one hell of a coach. Vandy lost a lot when he left. I think Lorenzo Ward's seat has been taken away and Muschamp's name has been placed on it. It would not surprise me in the least if that is where Coach Boom ends up.
I have said many times that Danielson sounds like he wants to have Bama's baby...that or blow 'em.
Yeah. Coach Muschamp is one hell of a defensive mind but the SEC was just too big a platform for him in the HC position. He'll end up with a great DC job somewhere or an HC job at a smaller school. I'm kind of excited/anxious to see what comes of the search at UF now.
Don't be surprised if Rich Rodriguez gets mentioned in the next few weeks. Not that he will be the next HC but his name will come up.
What a bummer. Hate to see any of these great athletes suffer injury. The upside to this is that he will certainly be back and playing. It will be exciting to see him play on Sundays.
Yep. Read it. I live in Atlanta and had the story shoved down my throat several times. If Gurley had committed a crime his background wouldn't matter in the verdict. The guy betrayed his team and it remains to be seen if he would have fessed up if there wasn't video evidence.
-I agree with Chris on the first pick. Bama has the ability to run it down LSU's throat and just when they think they have it figured out, here comes Cooper. -Georgia is a whipped puppy after last week and they are as embarrassed as UF was in the Mizzou debacle. It might be close to begin with but UGA hammers UK in the end. I'm closer to Chris' thinking on this one too. A&M don't have a chance in the win but they cover. -Vandy is awful and Florida might experience some letdown from last week's ass whoopin' they handed UGA but they will cover. -I would never put my $ on a team to cover 45. -Well I said this ^ until I read a bit about Presbyterian. They probably will cover and I'll just read about it later because it will be a dull game. BTW- started reading you guys last year but this season you guys have become of my favorite "go to" sites for SEC football. Keep up the good work.
Three weeks ago I was all fired up and ready for Muschamp to be run out of Gainesville on a rail. My emotions settled some and I realized that he probably should be given an opportunity to finish the season at the very least. I didn't expect (certainly hoped for) a win last week in Jacksonville. If Muschamp and his staff can coach these guys up and bring in wins against Vanderbilt (shouldn't be a problem), Eastern Kentucky (again, shouldn't be a problem), and Carolina ( home game against a team that might be as bad as Florida this year) and then keep it close or win against FSU, I think Foley let's him keep his job and I could support that. He should be kept on a very short leash if, for any reason, he is given another chance. If these guys come out of the gate losing next season against out of conference match-ups he should be sent packing immediately. Personally I would like to see what Roper is really capable of. Can he bring life to this offense?
Calm down everybody. The guy is from Canada. That alone is reason enough to discount anything he says. I take Lee Corso more serious than Palmer.
I agree that there should be some path for these guys to profit off their own likeness but as for now there is a prohibition and that is where he and the university have found themselves. I'm a Florida guy, I loved the win but I didn't expect a win last Saturday and there might not have been one if Gurley had played. That leads me to question where the outrage from fans toward Gurley is. This guy knew the rules and had apparently been breaking this one for quite some time. He broke the trust of his teammates, his coaches, the school, and the fans. Why aren't Georgia folks pissed off at him?
Good for him. He and his teammates played well last Saturday.
What a douche and a sore loser. I hope your life isn't as miserable as you have made it appear
Yup. The last thing the Gators need is a head coach that has the sun seeing on his career. From some off the decisions (and lack of decisions) he has made this season it is obvious his best days are behind him.
Firing Foley wouldn't be the wisest thing. His responsibilities don't just lie with the football program. He has had much success making Florida sports across the board the standard. Just take a look at the national championships the Gators have in other sports.
