Steve Robertson is an avid State fan. His original story is linked in the article. He is also a member of Elitedawgs. I'm just saying, you never see Ole Miss fans going out of their way to attempt to bring negative publicity on MSU. That fans would go to this level is a bit concerning.
The story was pushed by Steve Robertson and Elitedawgs. Seems MSU fans should be more concerned about their QB fighting and starting WR getting arrested for marijuana. I can't fathom that grown men have this much time on their hands.
Conner will stay at Husky and Mike Hilton is projected as the starting safety to begin the spring
Arkansas' offense will be legit regardless. I am more curious about who will step up on their defense. They arguably lost their 3 best defensive players.
So, would you rather your team play in the East or the West? I doubt any team in the East would be ecstatic about changing divisions. Plus the West did go 11-4 against the East and that is more of a relevant statistic than bowl records.
Trae Elston has been a three year starter. So the secondary is basically replacing a corner and a safety. All other starters will be back.
I don't believe he is saying that State will suck next year....he simply is saying that they will lose too many players to not expect regression....so State can win 7 or 8 games but they may not have the immediate talent to contend for a championship. That's not to say thAt state doesn't have talent , but as seen with LSU it's hard to recover from losing a lot of upperclassmen.
I am not upset about the Ole Miss game. This current Saint's game on the other hand is very upsetting. Its just an opinion man. No one's right or wrong. As well, I haven't once called anyone names or been derogatory. Arkansas has improved as a team and is on the right path. The SEC West is brutal and everyone can lose any given Saturday. I simply was implying that if the teams met in say Week 4 or 5 then you probably have a different result. It is all hypothetical fodder for a good discussion. Nothing less and nothing more. Congrats on becoming bowl eligible.
Very true, I was simply stating that at this point that Ole miss team is far from the world beater that they appeared to be early on in the season
No....Ole Miss is a team that can't run the ball....they win games by throwing down the field...Treadwell's prescence necessitates double coverage...thus leaving others open....his absence allows teams to play man to man and drop two safeties over the top...so yes a healthy Treadwell dictates a different defense and can precipitate different results because Arkansas does have a middle of the pack pass defense....also Tunsil left the game reinjured....the starting center left the game injured as well...so yes Arkansas caught them at the right time....enjoy the win....I'm just stating an observation.....just like when Ole Miss beat Bama....Drake and Kelly went out injured....just an opinion guys....
How would State fair if they lost their best offensive weapon like say Josh Robinson? Not too good is my guess. The offense was built around Treadwell and suffered when having to rely soley on Bo Wallace. Ole Miss caught some bad breaks literally. You guys are having a good season so just enjoy it my brother and have some class.
People are looking into this win a little too much. Arkansas beat an Ole Miss team ravaged by the injury bug. Ole Miss is talented but there is a considerable drop off from their stars to their second teamers. Arkansas is a good team but also caught Ole Miss at an opportune time. They seized the moment but if Ole Miss was healthy then you are probably looking at a different result. But, you can't fault Arkansas for acing the hand that they were dealt.
I would be humble if I were you. You never know what the future holds. 8-0 #webelieve ring a bell? As well, you guys lose a lot next year and potentially Prescott if he goes pro. So enjoy your moment because Prescott is to your program what Manziel was to Texas A&M.
Bo wallace missed wide open players. LSU did a good job stuffing the run, but who hasn't shut down Ole Miss' run game this season. However, guys were running wide open and Wallace simply missed them. A competent offense should put up more than 10 points point blank period.
So, I am guessing you forgot about MS State's game against UAB already. Football is a week to week process and no one thought MS State was very good after that game. Thus, one game doesn't define a season. Plus, the UM defense played lights out in this game. The same can not be said of State in that UAB game. So, your attempted trolling really makes no sense.
Both players are even speed and strength wise. Today, though, Nkemdiche would go higher because his technique is more polished overall. In two years, both could be 1st round picks, though.
MS State is doing well by their standards. Dan threw in the towel early last year and got a head start on the 2014-2015 recruiting cycle. It has paid off up to date. This class will probably finish in the 18-25 range in the final rankings. It is a solid class, but not special in regards to the rest of the SEC.
I wouldn't say that a list that consists primarily of three star recruits is cleaning anyone's clock.. State is doing well early by State standards but it is still really early in the recruiting cycle, and a lot of highly ranked recruits are still uncommitted. Without multiple high profile recruits committing, they will struggle to stay in the top 20. When they can start landing national recruits outside the state of Mississippi, then they will have fully turned the corner. Based on the projected size of their class, they should finish in the top 25; however, their class probably won't be ranked higher than the one OM brought in last year without some surprises down the stretch. Their class is solid thus far, though.
The real question is can Mullen land any impact guys from out of state. There isn't enough ELITE talent in the state of Mississippi to land a top 20 class from in-state talent alone. Thus, Mullen's true challenge is to somehow land 3-4 impact players from surrounding states.
I hope I am wrong, but we had a very good class last year and only finished in the 16-18 range on the big three recruiting sights. I believe that last years class was the norm. Therefore, if we sign a class similar to last year I believe that we will finish in the 19-23 range because we signed 28 last year and will only sign a max of twenty this year. Freeze may surprise me again though.
We will probably haul in a top 20 to 25 class. We will only be signing around 19 players or so. As well, the 2014 recruiting class in Mississippi is being a bit over-hyped. It has a lot of depth when it comes to the skill positions in comparison to recent years. Moreover, it is very thin with viable prospects along the defensive and offensive lines. Thus, Ole Miss will look to have a more out of state focus this year. Mississippi State had an edge in regards to in-state recruiting this year; however winning the state this year will not equal a top 20 class if they miss on out of state prospects. As of they now they lead for Dear and Adams while we lead for Patterson. Lewis and Peters are anyone's guess. Thus, the state is less top heavy than usual, but still too heavy nonetheless when it comes to blue chip prospects.
Early decommits happen to every school. it happened recently to State with T. D, Moton. As far as Tee Shepard goes, UM recruited him and built a relationship in the summer and fall. When, he decided to move back to California they backed off. Eventually, he moved back for academic reasons when he found a clearer path to eligibility. Ole Miss missed out on a few targets and decided to go after him when they were sure that he would have a shot at eligibility. But they had the relationship way before signing day. As well, it's ok to post your opinions, but there is no need for name calling, in the end, football is just a game, The decisions of eighteen and nineteen year olds only have a direct affect on their life. As fans, our lives aren't changed one way or the other.
