Despite becoming just the fourth 1,000-yard rusher since the turn of the century at Florida, Kelvin Taylor hasn’t gotten a lot of love in the projections leading up to the NFL Draft.

CBS Sports has Taylor projected as a fourth or fifth-round pick, while some other services have him going even later.

Taylor has been criticized for not having the speed or vision he needs to excel at the next level. Plus, his 1,000-yard effort was dampened by the fact that he barely averaged four yards per carry on the season.

His effort at the NFL Combine wasn’t very impressive either as he ran a 4.60 in the 40-yard dash, lifted 15 reps on the bench, had a 32-inch vertical and a 113-inch broad jump.

All those results were among the worst at his position in Indianapolis.

Nonetheless, Taylor scoffed at the running backs projected to go ahead of him when the draft begins a week from this Thursday and made his own projection in this tweet on Wednesday.

Taylor did get some notable praise from ESPN analyst Merril Hoge, who is on record saying Taylor is “one of the best runners I’ve seen in recent memory.”
