Charlotte, N.C., defensive tackle Jordan Davis has committed to Georgia.

Davis, who is a 6-foot-6, 330-pound prospect in the class of 2018, announced his decision to join the Bulldogs on Thursday night.

Classified as a 4-star prospect and rated as the nation’s No. 27 defensive tackle, according to the 247Sports Composite, Davis appears to be a solid pickup for the ‘Dawgs on the interior of the defense.

In addition to the offer he received from UGA, Davis had other opportunities with Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Michigan — just to name a few.

“Davis is a massive defensive tackle. He gets off the ball quickly and is powerful at the point of attack,” his 247Sports profile states. “He has good overall athleticism and is very disruptive. He changes directions fluidly and runs well. Davis is good in pursuit and closes quickly on the ball.

“He needs to continue to refine his technique, but has a huge upside and a chance to develop into a star at the collegiate level.”
