The Georgia Bulldogs reported a minor NCAA recruiting violation on Oct. 27 that occurred earlier that month, the Athens Banner-Herald reported Thursday.

Wide receivers coach Tony Ball and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo both called the same recruit during the same week after the recruit asked for a coach to have another call him, the newspaper reported based on information obtained in an open records request. A recruiting phone application notified one of the coaches that his call was a violation of NCAA rules.

Georgia director of player personnel Ronnie Leston contacted the school’s compliance office after being notified of the incident. The Bulldogs classified the incident as a Level III violation. Georgia’s staff was to be provided rules education as a corrective action, according to the report.
