The Georgia Bulldogs held a scrimmage Saturday afternoon as part of their spring practice schedule, and while there were a number of performances that are sure to excite the Georgia faithful, there was also some news that are sure to bring those fans back down to earth.
Keith Marshall, a former star tailback recruit who missed 18 games the last two seasons due to injury, sat out the scrimmage with a reported hamstring injury.

Marshall was said to be a full participant at the start of spring practice, indicating this injury was likely sustained since the start of spring ball. Considering Marshall’s injury history, there’s reason for at least mild concern.
Regarding those who did participate in Saturday’s scrimmage, all three quarterbacks in the running to replace Hutson Mason as UGA’s starters saw time under center. The majority of reps went to Brice Ramsey, who replaced Mason during last season’s Belk Bowl, and rising junior Faton Bauta. Jacob Park also saw time in a limited role.
QB stats at scrimmage for Georgia: Brice Ramsey 16-32, 232, 2 TD, 2 INT;
Faton Bauta 17-30, 247, 2 TD, INT; Jacob Park 4-7, 187 TD— Marc Weiszer (@marcweiszer) March 28, 2015
And on the defensive side of the ball, UAB linebacker transfer Jake Ganus had a strong day. Ganus is in the running to replace departed inside linebackers Ramik Wilson and Amarlo Herrera in the starting lineup this fall.
The defensive star appeared to be ILB Jake Ganus (10 tackles, 1 INT, 1 sack). Ganus was working mostly with the second team.
