It’s throwback Thursday on social media, so Georgia’s Twitter account decided go back 19 years to the time that Kirby Smart helped the Bulldogs defeat the Gators in Jacksonville 37-17.

The 1997 game, which Smart had two interceptions, was the only time UGA beat Florida during Steve Spurrier’s tenure (1990-2001). Smart played defensive back at UGA from 1995-98.
Smart’s last time coaching in the rivalry came in 2005, when he was the running backs coach on the staff of his predecessor, Mark Richt.
