The Kentucky Wildcats have faced-off with the Florida Gators every year since 1967. They’ve lost to the Gators every year since 1987, a streak of 27 defeats in a row, representing the longest active losing streak by one opponent to another in the nation.

UK quarterback Patrick Towles has led the Wildcats to a 2-0 start to the 2014 season, outscoring their opponents by a combined 62 points in those two games. The Gators, meanwhile, are 1-0 after a rout of Eastern Michigan in the Swamp on Saturday.

Despite the losing streak, Towles is feeling confident about the Cats’ chances in Gainesville next week. He even vowed to get a tattoo to commemorate Saturday’s showdown if Kentucky can come away with the victory:

So those are the stakes: if Kentucky can win next week, Towles is getting tatted. There’s no word as to what the tattoo would say or look like, but there’s no doubting it will have the Big Blue Nation rejoicing if it means finally beating Florida.
