Another of the SEC’s quarterback competitions has been settled.

Kentucky coach Mark Stoops named Drew Barker his team’s starting quarterback for 2016 following Saturday’s spring game.

Barker, who was considered the favorite to replace Patrick Towles after earning playing time last season, beat out Stephen Johnson for the job.

The stats from the Blue and White game leaned heavily in Barker’s favor:

But that’s not to say that Johnson didn’t push Barker for the job, as Stoops spent most of the spring saying he was a viable candidate.
