In the Dallas Cowboys’ overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles five weeks ago, former LSU DB Morris Claiborne suffered an avulsion fracture, which is basically a bone being torn off the pelvis.

Despite the horrendous-sounding injury, Claiborne said he’s confident he’ll be back on the field before the regular season comes to an end, according to the Star-Telegram:

“I’m getting a lot better,” Claiborne said “Feeling a lot better. rehab and everything is going good. I’m doing more than I was expecting to be doing at this time. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks I will be back on the field. Just the way it’s going now, I feel like will be back before the season ends.”

In limited action this season, Claiborne has recorded 26 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception. He’s also recovered a fumble.

As the Cowboys continue to dominate the rest of the NFL, with an 11-1 record. If Claiborne can return, it will help bolster the Dallas defense for the playoff push.
