Fox Sports’ Tim Brando appeared on the Paul Finebaum Show to discuss LSU’s termination of Les Miles.

Brando said he knew Miles’ job was in jeopardy after the Tigers’ loss to Auburn Saturday. The Louisiana native also commented on the current situation interim coach Ed Orgeron faces in Baton Rogue, including some harsh words for LSU director Joe Alleva

“Ed Orgeron could win every game he’s got on the schedule and have no shot of getting the job permanently,” Brando said. “He is made to order for being an interim coach, ask USC. They made the mistake of running him out in favor of Sarkisian, one of Pat Haden’s worst calls. He doesn’t have a chance in hell at getting this job at LSU, yet he’s probably the best for the gig.

“But the leadership at LSU, where is the leadership? I certainly didn’t see it from the athletic director today when he wouldn’t answer a question and just allowed the ‘dog and pony show’ with Coach O to begin. That was something that needed to be addressed and frankly Joe Alleva address it, Paul, because he’s a mere puppet for the major donors to the program.”

Brando said LSU’s leadership problems and local politics were among the worst in college football, which will inevitably hurt its coaching search.

“Every school has its fair share of local politics that you have to deal with,” he said. “But in Louisiana and specifically in Baton Rogue, there’s far too many people who believe because of where the decimal is on their check that they’re suddenly smart when it comes to football.”

Brando also said the rumors of the Tigers hiring Houston’s Tom Herman or Jimbo Fisher are “pipe dreams” and they will instead end up with a young, rising offensive-minded coach.
