Jayden Daniels the best in the NFC? ESPN analysts debate QBs electric start
Jayden Daniels did it again in Week 4.
The former LSU star played like an NFL star, again, even though he’s only 4 games into his rookie season with the Washington Commanders. On Sunday afternoon in the desert, the 2nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft ran circles around yet another pro defense, completing a ridiculous 26 of 30 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown pass against the Arizona Cardinals. Daniels again was effective with his legs, running for 47 yards on just 8 carries and a rushing TD, his 4th of the season already.
Yes, he finally threw an interception, his 1st of the season (and his career), but Daniels is playing lights out so far for the Commanders, and he has 3-1 Washington all alone in 1st place in the NFC East. On Monday morning on ESPN’s “Get Up,” analyst Damien Woody wasn’t shy about giving a rookie praise that’s usually reserved for a veteran.
“Jayden Daniels is the best quarterback in the NFC right now. … I will say this, all that experience in college translates to the pros. This dude, nothing seems to bother him. He’s accurate, he’s athletic, he’s cool in the pocket,” said Woody about Daniels during a discussion about the rookie possibly being the best quarterback in the NFC East already — and even the entire NFC, as Woody boldly stated.

Daniels next takes aim at the Cleveland Browns, who visit the Commanders this Sunday.
