LSU hoops adds commitment from 4-star guard, nephew of Magic Johnson
Mazi Mosely, a nephew of star Lakers legend Magic Johnson, announced on Monday that he has committed to Matt McMahon and LSU.
Mosley, a 4-star shooting guard out of Montverde Academy in Florida, picked the Tigers over the likes of Iowa, Michigan, Arizona State and USC

Obviously, this is a massive get for McMahon and Co., their second commitment of the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Tigers also landed a pledge from 4-star PF Matt Gilhool on Sept. 10.
Mosley is still on the smaller side, 6-5 but just 165 lbs, and is considered to be a late bloomer in the Class of 2025. He makes up for it with a ridiculous ability to score the basketball, especially in catch-and-shoot situations but not exclusive. He averaged 12 points per game this past season at Montverde with his senior year upcoming.
Here’s a quick look at what LSU is getting in Mosley:

This year’s LSU basketball squad is expected to be a bottom-tier program in the SEC, one of the best conferences in the nation. The Tigers return Jalen Reed, Tyrell Ward, Derek Fountain and Mike Williams III – all of whom except perhaps Williams are likely to start. Fountain and Reed are probably the 2 bright spots for this team that, at the very least, should be fun to watch offensively.
The Tigers start their 2024 campaign on Nov. 6 against Louisiana Monroe.
